WHAT IS THE MODERN DAY RELEVANCE OF THE FIRST MIRACLE ?

Everyone is aware that Jesus performed his first miracle during a wedding feast when he turned water into wine. We should also be aware that every event in the bible was designed by God in order to teach and prepare people who would be seeking Him during the final part of our present world system.

After Jesus turned the water into wine, a very significant fact occurred…. people began to put their faith and trust in him. His first miraculous sign in front of the public made many realize the promised Messiah was in their presence!

Today, it’s very critical to understand exactly what the act of turning water into wine truly represented and even more importantly, why it was the first miracle Jesus performed!

In ancient times, with its scarcity of water, wine was a   customary and very traditional drink. There existed a close relationship between wine and the ongoing life in practically every ancient community…. therefore it makes perfect sense for the bible to use water and wine in a symbolic manner.                                                                                                                                   Many books of the bible, such as Isaiah, Habakkuk, and Joel to name just a few, use wine to symbolically represent teachings. Water is used in various ways. It can symbolize teachings or in some cases thirst. God’s words at Amos 8:11 are actually a great connection to the very heart and meaning of Jesus’ first miracle.

“I will send a famine into the land. A famine not for bread, and a thirst not for water, but for hearing the words of the LORD.”

The act of turning water into wine symbolized how Jesus would satisfy the desires of all people who feel a great need for…. and actually thirst for accurate, truthful knowledge!

In order to understand how this thirst is quenched, we need to consider this biblical definition that you will never hear thoroughly explained from the altars of men. English bible translations render the Hebrew word midbar as desert or wilderness. The Hebrew meaning of midbar is: “That which is beyond organized settlements and traditional civilized norms. Not hemmed in by rules, a place of spiritual renewal.”

The complexity of the Hebrew language makes it even clearer when you consider midbar’s root words. In the verbal sense: “dabar” meaning “where the mouth of God speaks.” In the noun sense: “debir” meaning “place of the word.”

B’midbar means: “In the wilderness”… a wild, untamed and unorganized place, where one would be stripped of all outside noise and distractions… with armor down, heart open, fully hearing, open to the unexpected and uncharted.

So whether a translation uses desert or wilderness, they both represent a state of mind completely unattached from the mainstream of men’s organized worship. This is where God’s word can speak to you unadulterated, without having to uphold or be influenced by any of men’s organizations or their handed down doctrines. Being outside of religious membership is considered to be a place dried up and parched in the eyes of the world, but as God promised at Ezekiel 17:24…. “The dry tree will blossom!”

The 35th chapter of Isaiah also describes how the thirsty ones will blossom…. When they go to the midbar!

“The wilderness and the waterless region will exult and the desert plain will be joyful and blossom as the saffron.” “Strengthen the weak hands you people, and make the knees that are wobbling firm.” “Say to those who are anxious at heart: Be strong. Do not be afraid. Look! Your own God will come with vengeance itself, even with a repayment. He will come and save you people.”

In essence, people who have turned their back to the falsehoods of men’s organized worship will hear the thunder…. when it roars like a lion in the wilderness!!! Their thirst will be quenched in the last days…. by the new wine!!!

There are many examples of wine being used to symbolize teachings in the bible. In the 28th and 29th chapters of Isaiah, a prophecy about some of today’s false shepherds leaves no doubt that wine symbolizes teachings.

The 28th chapter begins by telling us the fading flower of the fertile valley or the drunkards of Ephraim have become overpowered by wine. As the text continues, we begin to see the metaphoric nature of the prophecy.

“They have become intoxicated, but not with wine. They have moved unsteadily, but not because of intoxicating liquor.”

For the reason that this people have come near with their mouth, and they have glorified me merely with their lips, and they have removed their heart itself far away from me, and their fear toward me becomes men’s commandments that is being taught.”

These prophetic scriptures clearly show the shepherds have not literally been drinking wine…. their drunken stupor has been caused by untruthful teachings, which as a result have deceived their flocks! (Ezekiel 34)

John 2:10,11 reveals two very significant facts as to why Jesus’ first miraculous sign was turning water into wine.

“Every other man puts out the fine wine first, and when people are intoxicated, the inferior. You have reserved the fine wine until now.” “Jesus performed this in Cana of Galilee as the beginning of his signs, and he made his glory manifest, and his disciples put their faith in him.”

In order to understand the message these scriptures were meant to convey, we must realize what the first miracle represented for the days we are currently living. The new wine will not be served until the last days! It will eventually replace the intoxicated teachings of men! When Jesus recently opened the first seal, the end-time word of God went forth for a witness to all the inhabited earth. He once again, turned the water into wine!!!

If we fail to understand that Jesus turned the water into wine when he opened the first seal, the manifestation of his glory will be missed! This failure would make us no different than the people who failed to recognize the promised Messiah was in their midst 2000 years ago!

For the many that are now becoming believers in the presence of the New Wine, the same opportunity to put faith and trust in The Word is actually being played out again. The decision to drink the new wine will take on a new level of urgency when the 2nd seal is opened and God’s plagues create turmoil across the entire earth! (Revelation 6:3, 4) The 3rd and 4th seals will follow, and as Revelation 6:6 says; “there will be food shortages, but the oil and the wine will not be harmed!” This very enigmatic statement simply means the anointing power of the new wine (the end-time knowledge) will continue to overflow for all the ones God is calling out of the world’s darkness! Joel 2:19 explains the satisfying effect of the oil and the new wine.

“The LORD will answer and say to his people, Behold, I will send you grain and new wine and oil, and you will be satisfied by them; I will no longer make you a reproach among the nations.”

You may also want to read Verses 24-32 of this chapter, as they continue to relate many interesting facts about the downpour of the latter rain.

Although the abilities and deeds of these called out ones will vary, the end-time truth they will be learning does not come in a variety of forms! Truth is a plummet line no matter who, where or how many speaks it! Ephesians 4:12-16 explains why the fine wine has once again been reserved until the last days and what its presence will accomplish.

“To prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”

“Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.”

“Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ.”

“From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.”

These scriptures are undeniable! They perfectly explain the existence, function and timing of a latter day teaching that will change the world! They are in effect, proclaiming every detail of the beginning of true Christianity…. THE BEGINNING OF CHRIST’S TRUE EKKLESIA!! The many who have declared this has already taken place must do one thing…. REPENT. The truth will not succumb to our traditional teachings, desires and ways of thinking…. We must succumb to the truth!! (Isaiah 55:6-8)……. Whether we realize it or not, the scriptures in Ephesians have actually pinpointed the modern-day relevance of the first miracle!

Until the first seal was opened and the revelation of Christ began, God’s people have been like babes, tossed to and fro by the cunning schemes of the deceitful teachings of men. But now, things have changed! God is calling His people out of this chaotic mess! Now is the time to follow The White Horse down the narrow path! (Matthew 7:14)

“The LORD will march out like a mighty man, like a warrior he will stir up his zeal, with a shout he will raise the battle cry and will triumph over his enemies.” (Isaiah 42:13)

The Thunder will keep roaring like a lion throughout the opening of the remaining seals! In the wilderness, The Word will guide you through the tribulation and make the highway for our God through the desert plain straight. (Isaiah 40:3) Do not neglect! Digest the meal of The New Wine daily! (Joshua 1:8, 9)

“I will give waters in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.” “This people I have formed for myself; they shall declare my praise.” (Isaiah 43:20, 21)                                                                                                                                             “Hey there, all you thirsty ones! Come to the water. And the ones that have no money! Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine even without money and without price!” “Listen and come to me; hear me, that your soul may live, and I will make an everlasting covenant with you.” (Isaiah 55:1, 3)                                                                                                                                            Come to where the water has been turned into wine…. Come to where the Word of God will splash the Blood of the Lamb on your doorpost! …. Come to the Wilderness…. WHERE THE ROAR OF THE LION OF JUDAH SPLITS THE 2000 YEAR SILENCE OF TRUTH LIKE THUNDER!!!!
